Kim Vu is a Structural Engineering student at Carleton University with interests in structural design and forensic investigations.

Her work as a student intern includes assisting her colleagues with investigation of building science deficiencies as well as structural investigations, restoration and maintenance. She has assisted with projects on the repair and retrofit of commercial and residential buildings and enhanced her knowledge of structural analysis as well as concrete, steel, and timber design.

  • Project Highlights

    Design of Warehouse - Using CAD to draft a grading, drainage, and servicing plan for a 100,000 square foot property.


    Carleton Place Heritage Restoration - Retrofit of existing rotting beam and joint ends of a historic residential building. 


    OLRT Impact Investigation - Review and investigation of the damage caused by the settlement of condo building due to the adjacent construction of the OLRT tunnel.

  • Hobbies

    Enjoys collecting cute stuffs, shiny rocks, and antique objects.  Love chatting with friends in a hip coffee shop or exploring a charming small town.
